Welcome to the MACS Study!
This is a study that looks at changes in your ability to control your mood and attention as you move through fourteen (14) weeks of testing challenges. Half of our participants will also participate in eight (8) weekly group sessions of mindfulness education and practice. Mindfulness is a mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations. Our study will compare whether there are differences in the amount and pattern of change in attention and mood between participants who do and do not participate in our mindfulness groups.
